As an artist, my subject matter is mainly inspired by observing life in my home town, Buffalo, NY. As a city, Buffalo is quite complicated and colorful, not what you might first imagine coming out of the rust belt.... or what you've heard about the winters that turn the town into an iceberg for 3 months of the year. Growing up in Buffalo has informed the color of my life. I first learned the term local color when I was a student of American Studies at the University of Buffalo. Local Color usually describes the flavor and character of people and/or places. I have tried to capture and carry some of the local scene through my art work. To support myself and family, I have also created a business out of it all. I think of my business as the framework that holds together my art.
