As an artist, my subject matter is
mainly inspired by observing life in my home town, Buffalo, NY. As a
city, Buffalo is quite complicated and colorful, not what you might first
imagine coming out of the rust belt.... or what you've heard about the winters that turn the town into an iceberg for 3 months of the year.
Growing up in Buffalo has informed the color of my life. I first learned the term local color when I was a student of American Studies at the University of Buffalo. Local Color usually describes the flavor and character of people and/or places. I have tried to capture and carry some of the local scene through my art work.

To support myself and family, I have also created a business out of it all. I think of my business as the framework
that holds together my art. It grew out of New Buffalo Graphics, a
t-shirt design and printing company I started over 40 years ago and still continues. When I began to introduce other aspects of my work as an artist, like photography and book design, I
decided the framework needed to be more encompassing. So, I invented Local Color Editions.
Next to subject matter, I think color is probably the most important element in my work. It is the dressing on my salad. I add to the collection in the gallery and on the website whenever I am inspired.
I am still chasing my muse through the greater design of everyday life and, although sometimes a little late, I continue to show up to work every day. Here are a few of the recent additions to the collection. To see more, stop by the gallery or visit my website, www.localcoloreditions.com
